Born and raised in Northwest Chicago, James Berthiaume writes songs and performs in The Get. James began songwriting at an early age and continued to write for The Last Calls, Avitas, and singer Laura Lopardo.
In 2008, The Get released their debut album, "Escape The Scorn". The 12-track disc features all songs written by Berthiaume with the support of numerous local musicians. Two of the tracks were selected for the 2009 film "Fancypants".
James is also an actor (Shortbride Theater Troup), producer (Blacklung Pop Inc.) and has been hosting local open mics in the area for the past seven years.
Currently residing host of Open Mic @ Kevil's on Mondays and Open Door Open Mic every third Friday of the month.
